January 2020

In 2019, ten of our most advanced ICT students, aka the ‘Ninjas’, competed nationally and internationally with fantastic results.

Four of our Ninjas competed in the Technovation Girls annual coding competition in September 2019. The competition challenges girls all over the world to identify community problems, build a mobile application to address the problems and design a business plan to market the app. Out of the 1900 teams around the world, our Ninjas made it all the way to the semi-finals! An extraordinary effort.

In November 2019, two teams from our Ninja groups from Samdach Ouv High School and Monivong High School in Battambang competed at the 15th Annual STEM Cambodia festival. After months of careful building, programming and testing, they created a robot that won first place in the Robot SUMO Challenge!

“You know we are so excited with the result – that we are the winners of the Robot SUMO competition. We are so happy and can’t wait to see the next generation of Ninja’s compete in the STEM festival next year too.”

Our ICT course was developed in 2015 and embedded into the 5 public high schools in Battambang city. It has since provided over 17,800 high school students with ICT literacy and advanced computing courses, including programming and robotics, website design, graphic design, animation and gaming.
