Jaan Bai, meaning “rice bowl” in Khmer, is a social enterprise initiative of Cambodian Children’s Trust (CCT). The restaurant provides employment for Cambodian youth, who benefit from a profit-share arrangement; 51% of profits go towards supporting CCT’s work.
The menu showcases the simplicity of well-crafted and nourishing traditional Khmer cuisine. Seasonal produce is sourced from local farmers and the neighbouring market.
Jaan Bai features dishes by celebrity chefs Christine Manfield and David Thompson and is widely renowned to be some of the best eating and drinking in Battambang.
